What This Bill Does
Regulates the proximity of concrete batch plants, prohibiting their operation within 550 feet of concrete crushing facilities, hot mix asphalt plants, or other concrete batch plants under certain standard permits. Specifically, after September 1, 2025, new and renewed permits for concrete batch plants will be subject to these distance restrictions, which are measured from the nearest points of the facilities. The bill aims to create more distance between these industrial facilities, potentially affecting construction and industrial zoning in Texas.
