What This Bill Does

Modifies the Texas State Library and Archives Commission's grant program to support public libraries through various types of grants, including system operation, incentive, establishment, equalization, technology, competitive, and construction grants. The bill allows libraries to use state grants for administrative expenses, library infrastructure improvements, and service enrichment programs, while prohibiting grants from being used for site acquisition, building purchases, or debt payment. These changes aim to provide more flexible funding options for public libraries across Texas, helping them enhance their facilities, technology, and community services.
