What This Bill Does

Creates a Monitored Return Assistance Program for parents working to reunite with children in the child welfare system. Parents with family incomes at or below 300% of the federal poverty level who can prove economic barriers (like unemployment or housing challenges) can receive monetary assistance during their child's monitored return period. The Department of Family and Protective Services will provide financial support similar to foster care payments, and may extend assistance for up to six additional months after the case is dismissed.
