relating to job interview restrictions for releasees from the Texas
Department of Criminal Justice.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1.  Subchapter D, Chapter 508, Government Code, is
amended by adding Section 508.1143 to read as follows:
Sec. 508.1143.  CERTAIN RESTRICTIONS ON RELEASEE JOB
INTERVIEWS PROHIBITED.  A parole officer may not:
(1)  limit the number of job interviews that a releasee
(2)  prohibit a releasee from visiting a premises,
facility, or location without specific approval for the visit by
the parole officer if the visit is for a job interview and the
releasee has previously been approved to visit the premises,
facility, or location for a related purpose.
SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
