BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1.  Subchapter D, Chapter 201, Transportation Code,
is amended by adding Section 201.212 to read as follows:
Sec. 201.212.  ANNUAL MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION STUDY.  (a)
The department shall conduct an annual study of motor vehicle
collisions in this state.  As part of the study, the department
(1)  identify the 50 areas in this state with the most
frequent motor vehicle collisions; and
(2)  develop a plan to reduce motor vehicle collisions
in each area identified under Subdivision (1).
(b)  Not later than September 1 of each year, the department
shall prepare and submit a report to the governor, lieutenant
governor, and legislature that:
(1)  contains the results of the study conducted under
(2)  lists the areas identified under Subsection
(3)  provides the plan developed under Subsection
SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
