What This Bill Does

Modifies highway memorial markers for motorcycle collision victims, allowing for specific safety messages and victim names on roadside signs. The legislation limits marker maintenance to 10 years unless additional grant or donation funding is provided, and only applies to markers for victims not under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances at the time of the collision. The changes will take effect in September 2025, with the Texas Transportation Commission required to develop motorcyclist safety message guidelines by December 2025.
