What This Bill Does
Requires landlords of multi-unit residential complexes with online rent payment portals to disclose the total property tax amount for the complex and the percentage of each tenant's monthly rent attributable to property taxes. Tenants would be able to view this specific tax information in their individual section of the online portal, providing greater transparency about how their rent payments contribute to the property's tax obligations. The law will take effect on January 1, 2026, and apply to tax years beginning on or after that date.
