What This Bill Does

This Texas bill ensures that transportation service providers for individuals with disabilities under the Community Living Assistance and Support Services (CLASS) waiver program can be compensated for all driving time, including return trips without the recipient in the vehicle. The legislation covers transportation workers who help individuals with habilitation services, allowing them to be paid for the full time they spend operating a vehicle related to transporting program recipients. The bill will take effect on September 1, 2025, and is contingent on receiving necessary federal approvals.
