What This Bill Does

This Texas bill regulates how sensitive medical test results are disclosed electronically to patients or their representatives. Physicians are prohibited from sharing sensitive test results (like pathology reports indicating potential malignancy or genetic marker tests) through electronic means before the third day after the results are finalized. The bill aims to give healthcare providers time to review and communicate potentially serious medical information carefully, protecting patients from receiving alarming test results without proper context or immediate professional guidance.
