What This Bill Does
This Texas bill directs the executive commissioner to seek a federal Medicaid waiver to provide continuous medical assistance eligibility for children five years old and younger. The waiver would ensure these children remain eligible for medical assistance without additional reviews, regardless of changes in household income or resources, from the initial determination of eligibility until they turn six. If approved, this would simplify healthcare access and reduce administrative barriers for young children's medical coverage.
