What This Bill Does

Requires Texas State University to conduct a comprehensive study on the expected impacts of climate change in Texas, focusing on economic consequences, effects on vulnerable industries like agriculture, and potential increases in environmental challenges such as droughts and natural disasters. By December 1, 2026, the university must submit a detailed report to state leadership analyzing the state's preparedness to identify, minimize, and mitigate these climate change effects. The study aims to provide state policymakers with a strategic overview of potential climate-related risks and recommended adaptation strategies.
