What This Bill Does

This Texas bill requires state government agencies with over $10 million in annual general revenue and 100+ full-time employees to livestream and archive their open meetings online. Agencies must broadcast live video and audio of meetings on their website, and maintain a recording of each meeting online for two years after the meeting date. For smaller agencies not meeting the $10 million threshold, the bill mandates posting either an audio or video recording of open meetings within seven days on their website or social media accounts.
