What This Bill Does

This Texas bill limits the total annual percentage rate (APR) for consumer credit extensions obtained through credit services organizations to 36%. It applies to all fees, interest, and charges associated with the credit, requiring comprehensive calculation of the total cost. The law aims to protect consumers from high-cost credit by capping the maximum rate and ensuring all charges are transparently disclosed, effective September 1, 2025.
