What This Bill Does

Requires that when a student in a special education program is subject to a threat assessment, a member of their admission, review, and dismissal (ARD) committee with specific knowledge of the student's disability must be included on the threat assessment team. The change aims to ensure that threat assessments for special education students consider their unique needs and support services. The bill will take effect for the 2025-2026 school year, providing schools time to adjust their threat assessment protocols.
