What This Bill Does

Clarifies and expands the powers of volunteer deputy registrars in Texas. It prohibits county registrars from refusing to appoint volunteer deputy registrars based on discriminatory reasons and allows these volunteers to distribute and collect voter registration forms across the entire state, not just in their county of appointment. The bill also specifies appointment details, including term limits and potential termination conditions, while preventing volunteers from receiving compensation unless authorized by the county commissioners court.
