What This Bill Does
Requires municipal ballot propositions for bonds that would increase taxes to include a specific disclosure statement: "THIS PROPOSITION WILL RESULT IN AN AD VALOREM TAX INCREASE." The new requirement applies to any municipal election ordered on or after September 1, 2025, and aims to provide voters with clear, upfront information about the potential tax impact of proposed bond issues. The legislation will affect local governments and voters by mandating more transparent language on ballot measures involving tax-funded municipal bonds.
