relating to the applicability of the Texas Success Initiative to
certain public service officers and employees
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1.  Subchapter F-1, Chapter 51 Education Code,
Section 51.332 is amended by adding Subsections (7)-(9) to read as
(7)  a student who is certified as an emergency medical technician
by the Department of State Health Services as provided by Chapter
773, Health and Safety Code, and who is employed by a political
(8)  a student who is certified who is a "firefighter" defined as
fire protection personnel under Section 419.021; or
(9)  a student who is a an individual elected, appointed, or
employed to serve as a peace officer for a governmental entity under
Article 2A.001, Code of Criminal Procedure, or other law.
SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
