relating to the Texas Ethics Commission's jurisdiction to administer and enforce laws against certain persons. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Section 571.061, Government Code, is amended by adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: (c) Notwithstanding any other law, the commission does not have jurisdiction to administer or enforce a law against a person other than an officer or employee of a governmental entity. SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
