relating to the assistance or cooperation of campus police
departments, certain local governmental entities, and personnel of
places of worship with federal immigration officers at a place of
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1.  Section 752.053, Government Code, is amended by
amending Subsection (c) and adding Subsection (d) to read as
(c)  Notwithstanding Subsection (b)(3), a local entity or
campus police department shall [may] prohibit persons who are
employed by or otherwise under the direction or control of the
entity or department from assisting or cooperating with a federal
immigration officer if the assistance or cooperation occurs without
a judicial warrant at a place of worship.
(d)  The personnel of a place of worship may not authorize a
federal immigration officer operating within the course and scope
of the officer's immigration-related investigation or enforcement
duties to enter the place of worship without a judicial warrant.
SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
