relating to the authority of certain health care facilities to
cooperate with officers engaged in immigration-related duties.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1.  Subtitle F, Title 4, Health and Safety Code, is
amended by adding Chapter 318 to read as follows:
CHAPTER 318.  COOPERATION WITH OFFICERS ENGAGED IN
Sec. 318.001.  DEFINITION.  In this chapter, "health
(1)  a hospital licensed under Chapter 241;
(2)  a health care facility owned or operated by a
(3)  a federally qualified health center as defined by
42 U.S.C. Section 1396d(l)(2)(B).
Sec. 318.002.  COOPERATION WITH OFFICER ENGAGED IN
IMMIGRATION-RELATED DUTIES PROHIBITED.  A health facility may not
grant a federal immigration officer or peace officer engaged in
immigration-related investigation or enforcement duties access to
the premises of the facility without a judicial warrant.
SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
