What This Bill Does
Modifies public hearing requirements for residential child-care facilities in counties with populations under 500,000. Applicants seeking to establish or expand general residential operations, cottage home operations, or continuum-of-care residential operations must now conduct a public hearing and publish a notice in a local newspaper before receiving a license. The requirement aims to increase community transparency and input regarding new or expanded child-care facilities in smaller, less populous counties.
