What This Bill Does

Strengthens criminal background check requirements for staff working in various healthcare and care facilities, including nursing facilities, adult foster care providers, home and community support services agencies, hospitals, and residential child-care facilities. The legislation mandates more comprehensive background screening for employees in these settings, ensuring greater protection for vulnerable populations such as elderly individuals and adults with disabilities. The new requirements aim to enhance safety and screening protocols across a wide range of healthcare and social service environments.
