relating to vehicles eligible for toll discount programs. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. The heading to Section 372.053, Transportation Code, is amended to read as follows: Sec. 372.053. [VETERAN] DISCOUNT PROGRAM. SECTION 2. Sections 372.053(a) and (a-1), Transportation Code, are amended to read as follows: (1) may establish a discount program for electronic (2) if the entity establishes a program under Subdivision (1), shall establish a process by which the entity regularly updates electronic toll collection customer information to ensure that a customer described by Subsection (a-1) is able to receive free or discounted use of the entity's toll project. (a-1) A program established under Subsection (a) must include free or discounted use of the entity's toll project by an electronic toll collection customer: (1) whose account relates to a vehicle registered under Section 504.202 or 504.315(f) or (g); or (2) who is 65 years of age or older. SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
