What This Bill Does
Amends the Texas Penal Code to strengthen regulations on certain firearm modification devices, specifically prohibiting possession, manufacture, transport, repair, or sale of devices designed to make handguns capable of automatic firing with a single trigger pull. The law applies to such devices unless they are registered in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record or classified as a curio or relic by the U.S. Department of Justice. Violations of this law will be considered a criminal offense, with the statute taking effect on September 1, 2025, and applying only to offenses committed on or after that date.
