What This Bill Does

Modifies Texas law regarding handgun possession while intoxicated, specifically for license holders in locations serving alcohol. It creates a Class A misdemeanor for licensed handgun carriers who are intoxicated in certain locations, but provides a legal defense if the person is not intoxicated while possessing the handgun. The law aims to regulate responsible gun carrying in environments where alcohol is present, impacting licensed gun owners who frequent bars, restaurants, and other alcohol-serving establishments.
