What This Bill Does

Enhances information and support for juveniles seeking to seal their criminal records. It requires juvenile probation departments to provide both written and oral explanations about record sealing procedures to juveniles and their parents/guardians, including information about local resources and low-cost legal assistance. The bill also mandates the State Bar of Texas to create and publish an online directory of attorneys who can help juveniles seal their records at low or no cost, making the process more accessible and transparent.
