What This Bill Does

Extends the sunset review dates for several Texas governmental entities, including the Texas Lottery Commission, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Texas Ethics Commission, Department of Information Resources, and various river authorities, from 2025 to 2027. The bill ensures these agencies remain subject to periodic legislative review under the Texas Sunset Act, which helps maintain governmental accountability and efficiency. The changes affect these specific state agencies and authorities, extending their operational timeline and requiring continued periodic evaluation by the legislature.
