relating to requiring the Department of Family and Protective
Services to annually review the department's process to enter into
adoption assistance agreements.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1.  Section 162.304, Family Code, is amended by
adding Subsection (k) to read as follows:
(k)  The department shall annually review the process the
department uses to enter into adoption assistance agreements under
this section.  As part of its review, the department shall consider:
(1)  the amount of money the department has available
for adoption assistance agreements;
(2)  the maximum amount the department is authorized to
pay as a subsidy under this section and the factors the department
considers in determining that amount; and
(3)  the factors the department considers in
determining a child's eligibility for a subsidy under this section.
SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
