relating to the issuance of specialty license plates for licensed BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Subchapter F, Chapter 504, Transportation Code, is amended by adding Section 504.5112 to read as follows: Sec. 504.5112. LICENSED PEACE OFFICERS. (a) In this section, "licensed peace officer" means a person who is an active licensed peace officer under Chapter 1701, Occupations Code. (b) The department shall issue specialty license plates for licensed peace officers. The license plates must include the words "Licensed Peace Officer" and have the same design as a license plate (c) There is no fee for the issuance of the license plates. SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
