relating to performance-based funding goals for general academic BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Section 61.059, Education Code, is amended by adding a subsection (t) to read as follows: (t) In addition to other funding authorized by this section, beginning in the 2026-27 biennium, the legislature shall appropriate funding to general academic teaching institutions using an allocation methodology that includes outcome measures to incentivize students' timely graduation. The total amount of performance-based funding authorized by this subsection shall constitute not less than 15 percent of the sum of the total amount of performance-based funding distributed to all eligible institutions and the total amount of other formula funding SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
