relating to the preliminary examination of a person transported to a general hospital's emergency department BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Section 573.021, Health and Safety Code, is amended by adding Subsection (f) to read as follows: (f) Subsection (b) of this section does not apply to a person transported under 573.001 to a hospital emergency department unless the person remains in custody of a peace officer at the facility or the facility is otherwise licensed to provide mental SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
