relating to the termination and compensation of a city manager. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Chapter 150, Local Government Code, is amended by adding Subchapter D to read as follows: SUBCHAPTER D. COMPENSATION AND TERMINATION OF CITY MANAGER Sec. 150.061. COMPENSATION AND TERMINATION OF CITY MANAGER. (a) Only the governing body of a municipality may terminate or adjust the compensation of a city manager. (b) This section prevails over any conflicting charter provision of a home-rule municipality. SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
