BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1.  Chapter 305, Local Government Code, is amended
by adding Subchapter C to read as follows:
SUBCHAPTER C.  DISPLAYS ON MUNICIPAL AND COUNTY BUILDINGS
Sec. 305.031.  DISPLAY OF "IN GOD WE TRUST."  The governing
body of a municipality and the commissioners court of a county shall
display "In God We Trust" in a conspicuous place on each building
owned, leased, or used by the municipality or county if the signage
bearing "In God We Trust" is donated to the municipality or county.
A donor must also pay the cost of any necessary installation fees
for the display.  The phrase must be displayed on the outside of a
SECTION 2.  The governing body of each municipality and the
commissioners court of each county shall comply with Section
305.031, Local Government Code, as added by this Act, as soon as
practicable after the effective date of this Act.
SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
