relating to the manufacture, sale, and distribution of products developed using mRNA material in the prevention or treatment of a BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 431, Health and Safety Code, is amended by adding Section 431.0215 to read as follows: Sec. 431.0215. ADDITIONAL PROHIBITED ACTS. (a) In this section, "mRNA material" means a substance that introduces messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) corresponding to a viral protein. (b) A person may not manufacture, sell, or distribute a product developed through the use of mRNA material in the prevention or treatment of a communicable disease. SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
