relating to a study by the Texas Education Agency regarding
standardizing building designs for public schools.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1.  DEFINITION.  In this Act, "agency" means the
SECTION 2.  STUDY REGARDING STANDARDIZED BUILDING DESIGNS.
(a)  The agency shall conduct a study regarding standardizing
building designs for public schools.
(b)  The study conducted under this section must:
(1)  determine the feasibility of establishing a set of
10 standardized building designs that a school district must choose
from when building a new campus; and
(2)  evaluate the effective cost savings to individual
school districts from providing standardized building designs for
school districts building a new campus.
SECTION 3.  REPORT.  Not later than September 1, 2026, the
agency shall submit a report to the governor, the lieutenant
governor, the speaker of the house of representatives, and the
chair of each standing committee of the legislature with primary
jurisdiction over education that includes the results of the study
SECTION 4.  EXPIRATION.  This Act expires September 1, 2027.
SECTION 5.  EFFECTIVE DATE.  This Act takes effect September
