BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1.  Section 602.002, Occupations Code, is amended by
amending Subdivisions (5-a) and (12) and adding Subdivision (5-b)
(5-a)  "Magnetic resonance imaging physics" means the
branch of medical physics that deals with radiofrequency radiation
and the use of equipment associated with the production and use of
(5-b)  "Medical board" means the Texas Medical Board.
(12)  "Radiological physics" means the branch of
(A)  diagnostic radiological physics;
(B)  magnetic resonance imaging physics;
(D)  [(C)] medical nuclear physics; and
(E)  [(D)] therapeutic radiological physics.
SECTION 2.  Section 602.201(b), Occupations Code, is amended
(b)  A medical physicist may not practice the following
specialties unless the person holds a license for that specialty:
(1)  diagnostic radiological physics;
(2)  magnetic resonance imaging physics;
(4)  [(3)] medical nuclear physics; or
(5)  [(4)] therapeutic radiological physics.
SECTION 3.  As soon as practicable after the effective date
of this Act, the Texas Medical Board shall adopt rules necessary to
implement the changes in law made by this Act to Chapter 602,
SECTION 4.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
