relating to creating a school uniform allotment under the
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1.  Subchapter C, Chapter 48, Education Code, is
amended by adding Section 48.121 to read as follows:
Sec. 48.121.  SCHOOL UNIFORM ALLOTMENT.  (a)  Except as
provided by Subsection (c), for each student in average daily
attendance who attends a school at which school uniforms are
required, a school district is entitled to an annual allotment of
(b)  Money allocated under this section may be used only to
provide uniforms to each student who is required to wear a uniform.
(c)  In any school year in which the amount of money
appropriated for purposes of this section is less than the amount of
money to which school districts are entitled,  the commissioner:
(1)  may provide an allotment to a district under
Subsection (a) only if there is sufficient money to provide the
district the full amount to which the district is entitled under
(2)  shall prioritize districts that receive funding
under Title I, Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (20
SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
