relating to the procedure by which certain special districts are required to provide notice of certain matters. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Section 49.063, Water Code, is amended by amending Subsection (a) and adding Subsections (a-1) and (a-2) to (a) Except as provided by Subsection (a-1), notice [Notice] of meetings of the board shall be given as set forth in the open meetings law, Chapter 551, Government Code. (a-1) If[, except that if] a district does not have a meeting place within the district, the district shall post notice (1) on the district's Internet website; or (2) if the district does not maintain an Internet website, at a public place within the district specified by the board in a written resolution[, rather than at its administrative (a-2) A [The board shall specify such] public place specified by the board for the posting of notice under Subsection (a-1)(2) must [to] be a bulletin board or other place within the district which is reasonably available to the public. SECTION 2. Section 49.113, Water Code, is amended to read as Sec. 49.113. NOTICE FOR FILING FOR PLACE ON BALLOT. (a) A notice required by Section 141.040, Election Code, must be posted: (1) at the district's administrative office in the (2) if the district does not have an administrative office in the district, in the manner required by Section 49.063(a-1) of this code for a notice subject to Section 49.063. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
