relating to a notification provided by a transportation network company regarding a designated bicycle lane. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 2402, Occupations Code, is amended by adding Section 2402.116 to read as follows: Sec. 2402.116. REQUIRED NOTIFICATION REGARDING DESIGNATED BICYCLE LANE. If the starting point or ending point of a digitally prearranged ride requires the driver's motor vehicle or the person requesting the ride to enter a designated bicycle lane, the transportation network company shall, at the time the driver accepts the digitally prearranged ride, provide through the company's digital network to the driver and the person requesting (1) that the starting point or ending point, as applicable, of the digitally prearranged ride requires the driver's vehicle or the person requesting the ride to enter a designated (2) advising the driver and the person requesting the ride to be alert for bicyclists. SECTION 2. Section 2402.116, Occupations Code, as added by this Act, applies only to a digitally prearranged ride accepted by a driver on or after the effective date of this Act. SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
