relating to the applicability of prohibitions on municipal or county regulations on the rental or leasing of housing BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Section 250.007(b), Local Government Code, is (b) This section does not affect an ordinance or regulation that prohibits the refusal to lease or rent a housing accommodation (1) a military veteran because of the veteran's lawful (2) a person who is 62 years of age or older because of the person's lawful source of income to pay rent; or (3) a person who has a disability, as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (42 U.S.C. Section 12101 et seq.), because of the person's lawful source of income to pay rent. SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
