BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1.  Section 22.003, Education Code, is amended by
adding Subsection (g) to read as follows:
(g)  The accrued sick leave days of an employee of a school
district or charter school, upon retirement, shall be transferred
into a sick leave bank.  This bank may be used by any school district
or charter school employee who has exhausted their granted sick
leave days, subject to any existing policies implemented by the
school district or charter school.
SECTION 2.  This section shall not preempt any existing
policies of a public school district or charter school regarding
the disbursement of accumulated sick days of retired employees.
SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
