relating to a military transition allotment under the Foundation BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 48, Education Code, is amended by adding Section 48.120 to read as follows: Sec. 48.120. MILITARY TRANSITION AID. (a) A school district is entitled to an annual allotment equal to the basic allotment multiplied by 0.08 for each eligible student in average (b) A student is eligible for purposes of Subsection (a) if (1) is a military-connected student, as defined by (2) is in the student's first year of enrollment in the (c) Funds allocated under this section may be used only to maintain a transition program that assists military families with relocation, enrollment, registration, records transfer, academic planning, counseling, and other support services available at a Purple Star Campus, as described by Section 33.909. SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
