relating to the installation of advanced x-ray inspection
technology systems at certain Texas-Mexico border crossings.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1.  Subchapter A, Chapter 411, Government Code, is
amended by adding Section 411.02091 to read as follows:
Sec. 411.02091.  ADVANCED X-RAY INSPECTION TECHNOLOGY
SYSTEMS AT INTERNATIONAL BORDER CROSSINGS.  (a)  The department, in
collaboration with the Texas Department of Transportation, shall
install advanced x-ray inspection technology systems that are
non-intrusive at Texas-Mexico international border crossings to
inspect commercial motor vehicles, as determined by the Texas
Department of Transportation, in order to ensure safe, efficient,
and streamlined commercial motor vehicle connectivity.
(b)  The department shall coordinate the installation of
inspection technology systems described by Subsection (a) with the
installation of similar technology systems by federal agencies as
necessary to implement this section.
SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
