relating to librarians employed by public schools. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 33, Education Code, is amended by adding Section 33.025 to read as follows: Sec. 33.025. LIBRARIANS. (a) Each school district and open-enrollment charter school shall ensure that a librarian is present during at least half of each school day at each district or (b) The commissioner shall adopt rules as necessary to SECTION 2. This Act applies beginning with the 2026-2027 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
