relating to a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement advisory
committee regarding active shooter response training for peace
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1.  Subchapter D, Chapter 1701, Occupations Code, is
amended by adding Section 1701.171 to read as follows:
Sec. 1701.171.  ACTIVE SHOOTER RESPONSE TRAINING ADVISORY
COMMITTEE.  (a) The commission shall establish an advisory
committee to make recommendations to the commission regarding the
active shooter response training program required under Sections
1701.253(q), as added by Chapter 102 (S.B. 1852), Acts of the 88th
Legislature, Regular Session, 2023, and 1701.3525, including
recommendations related to the content and implementation of the
(b)  The advisory committee consists of five members
(c)  Chapter 2110, Government Code, does not apply to the
size or composition of the advisory committee.
SECTION 2.  It is the intent of the 89th Legislature, Regular
Session, 2025, that the amendments made by this Act be harmonized
with another Act of the 89th Legislature, Regular Session, 2025,
relating to nonsubstantive additions to and corrections in enacted
SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
