relating to quality standards for the sale of aggregates and BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Subtitle B, Title 5, Health and Safety Code, is amended by adding Chapter 375 to read as follows: CHAPTER 375. CONCRETE QUALITY STANDARDS Sec. 375.001. DEFINITIONS. In this chapter: (1) "Aggregates" has the meaning assigned by Section 133.003, Natural Resources Code. (2) "Commission" means the Texas Commission on Sec. 375.002. QUALITY STANDARDS; PROHIBITION. (a) The (1) adopt concrete quality standards; and (A) concrete that does not conform with the standards adopted under Subdivision (1); and (B) aggregates for use in mixing concrete that do not conform with the standards adopted under Subdivision (1). (b) In adopting concrete quality standards, the commission shall consider concrete quality standards published by the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association. SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
