relating to the applicability to private schools of laws relating
to the reporting to law enforcement of certain employee misconduct.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1.  Subchapter A, Chapter 38, Education Code, is
amended by adding Section 38.0046 to read as follows:
Sec. 38.0046.  APPLICABILITY TO PRIVATE SCHOOLS OF CERTAIN
MISCONDUCT REPORTING LAWS.  A requirement in this code or any other
law for a school district or the district's administrators or
employees to report to law enforcement an alleged incident of
misconduct by a district employee, including the requirement to
report abuse or neglect of a child under Section 261.101, Family
Code, applies to a private school in the same manner as if:
(1)  the school were a school district; and
(2)  the school's administrators and employees were
administrators and employees of a school district.
SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
