relating to the establishment of service credit in the Teacher
Retirement System of Texas for certain military service by members
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1.  Section 823.301(a), Government Code, is amended
(a)  Military [Except as provided by Section 823.101(2),
military] service creditable in the retirement system is:
(1)  active federal duty in the armed forces of the
United States, other than as a student at a service academy, that
(A) [(1)]  as a direct result of being inducted or
of first enlisting for duty on a date when the federal government
was actively inducting persons into the armed forces under federal
(B) [(2)]  as a reservist or member of the
national guard who was ordered to duty under the authority of
(C) [(3)]  during a time when the federal
government was actively inducting persons into the armed forces
(D) [(4)]  as a result of voluntarily entering on
(2)  state active duty in the Texas National Guard, as
those terms are defined by Section 437.001.
SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
