Bill Text
relating to eligibility for the Preparation for Adult Living Program for former foster youth. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Section 264.121, Family Code, is amended by adding Subsection (a-8) to read as follows: (a-8) The department shall allow a former foster care youth to participate in the Preparation for Adult Living Program until the youth's 25th birthday. A former foster care youth may return to the program as necessary to complete the program. SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
