relating to the salary schedules for regional planning commissions. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Section 391.0117, Local Government Code, is amended by amending Subsection (b) and adding Subsection (b-1) to (b) The salary schedule for classified positions adopted by a [the] commission serving fewer than 200 participating governmental units may not exceed[, for classified positions,] the state salary schedule for classified positions as prescribed by the General Appropriations Act adopted by the most recent legislature. A commission serving fewer than 200 participating governmental units may adopt a salary schedule that is less than the state salary (b-1) A commission serving 200 or more participating governmental units may adopt a salary schedule for classified positions as determined by the commission. SECTION 2. This Act applies only to a salary schedule adopted for a fiscal year beginning on or after the effective date SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
